High-value returns travel from a receiving warehouse abroad into a bonded zone in Shenzhen. Your repair team fixes and tests them there under customs supervision, and the goods ship out again for sale abroad. Units that need only a new box or label stay in the country they are in.

A returned phone is worth more fixed than scrapped
Phones, tablets and drones come back from buyers with a cracked screen, a dead battery or nothing wrong beyond an opened box. A repair shop in the country of sale charges local labor rates and waits weeks for parts. Your factory has the parts on the shelf.
The obstacle has been customs. Bring the goods into China the ordinary way and you pay import tax on your own products, then start over on the export paperwork when you ship them out.
Two routes, chosen unit by unit
Fix it where it is. A large share of returns are new, lightly marked or missing packaging. We receive and inspect them at a warehouse in the country of sale. With new packaging and a new label, they go back out to buyers or to the marketplace warehouse.
Send it home. Units that need a technician travel to a bonded zone in Shenzhen.
How repair under bond works
A bonded zone is an area inside China that customs treats as outside the country for tax purposes. Goods enter without import tax. Your team repairs and tests them. They leave again for sale abroad.
China permits this kind of repair for listed product categories in its comprehensive bonded zones. The published catalogs cover 276 categories. Measures issued in 2026 go further for goods made in China: exported products may come back to a bonded zone for repair and leave again, outside the catalog limits. We confirm the status of your product before you ship.

Returns that come home for good

Sellers of electronics and other goods with a unit value high enough to justify two legs of freight. If your average unit sells for less than a round trip costs, use the local relabel route and skip the trip home.

What sellers ask before they book
Which products can be repaired under bond in China?
China manages bonded repair by product list. The current catalogs cover 276 product categories, and measures issued in 2026 allow China-made exports to return to a comprehensive bonded zone for repair outside that list. Send us the product and its HS code and we will confirm whether it qualifies.
Do repaired goods pay Chinese import tax?
Goods that enter a bonded zone, get repaired and ship out again are never imported into mainland China, so import tax does not apply. Goods that leave the zone into mainland China are imported at that point. They follow the normal rules unless a returns exemption covers them.
Do the returns have to come from Amazon?
No. We take returns from any marketplace, from your own web store, and from third-party warehouses abroad.
What if a unit cannot be repaired?
Tell us your repair criteria before the shipment leaves. We sort at the overseas warehouse, so you avoid paying freight on units your factory would scrap.
