Send Amazon FBA returns back to China

We receive your Amazon removal orders at a warehouse we arrange in the same country, check each unit, and ship the stock back to China. Our Shenzhen team files the customs entry as returned export goods and delivers to your factory or repair line. Stock that meets China’s return rules comes back free of import duty and VAT.

Amazon refunds the buyer. You keep the problem.

Amazon lets a buyer send a product back for weeks after delivery, and for longer on holiday-season orders. The buyer gets a full refund. You get a unit marked unsellable and two choices: pay Amazon to dispose of it, or pay storage while it sits.

Most of those units have a torn box, a missing manual or a fault your factory fixes in minutes. Scrapping them abroad throws away the cost of making them and the cost of shipping them there.

China waives import tax on returns that qualify

A 2026 announcement from China’s Ministry of Finance, customs authority and tax authority lets cross-border e-commerce exports come home free of import duty, import VAT and consumption tax. Your shipment qualifies when:

  • The goods left China under customs code 9610, 9710, 9810 or 1210. Code 9810 covers exports to overseas warehouses, FBA included. The export declaration from your freight forwarder shows the code.
  • They return within six months of the export date.
  • They come back in original state, with no added parts and no rework. Opened boxes and tested units still count.
  • They are not food.
  • The export took place between January 1, 2026 and December 31, 2027.

Goods exported under ordinary trade terms follow a different rule. China’s Tariff Law waives import duty when exported goods return in original state within one year for reasons of quality or specification.

We check your export records before anything ships. You know the tax position first.

One thing to know about export tax rebates

If you claimed an export tax rebate on the goods, China requires you to repay it before the exemption applies. Your tax office then issues a certificate, and customs uses it to release the goods tax-free. We raise this at the quote stage because it changes the math on low-value stock.

Who this suits

Sellers of goods worth repairing: electronics, small appliances and other products with a unit cost that makes a disposal fee painful. For cheap items, selling the returns off in the local market often wins. We will tell you when that is the better choice.

The process

From your side to ours, step by step

  1. Create the removal order

In Seller Central, send the units to the receiving warehouse we arrange in the same country. We give you the address when you book.

  2. We receive and sort

We count the cartons against your order and check each unit. You decide which units go back to China and which get a new label for local resale.

  3. Freight to Shenzhen or Hong Kong

We consolidate the units going home and book air or sea freight, whichever your margin allows.

  4. Customs entry

Our team files the goods as returned exports. Your export declaration and the marketplace return records are the evidence.

  5. Delivery or repair

We deliver to your factory, or hold the goods in a bonded zone while your team repairs them.

  6. Back on sale

Repaired units ship out again from the bonded zone, or go into your stock in China.

Questions

What sellers ask before they book

Do I pay import duty when my own products come back to China?

No, if the shipment qualifies. China waives import duty, import VAT and consumption tax on cross-border e-commerce exports that return in original state within six months of export. The policy runs through December 31, 2027 and excludes food. Goods outside those terms may still get duty relief under the one-year rule in China’s Tariff Law. We read your export declaration and tell you which rule applies before you ship.

What documents prove the goods were exported from China?

The export declaration for the original shipment. For buyer returns, customs also asks for the return or refusal records from the marketplace. For stock that did not sell, a signed statement of the reason is enough.

Can you take returns from marketplaces other than Amazon?

Yes. Walmart, eBay, Temu, TikTok Shop and AliExpress returns follow the same process, and so does stock sitting in a third-party warehouse. You send the units to the receiving warehouse in that country and we handle the rest.

What happens to units that are not worth shipping home?

We sort them out at the overseas warehouse. A unit with a damaged box can get new packaging and a new label there and go back on sale in the same market. We ship home the units that need a factory.

Can repaired units go back on sale abroad?

Yes. Goods can enter a bonded zone in Shenzhen, get repaired there, and ship out again without being imported into mainland China for tax purposes.

How long does a return take?

Transit time depends on the country and on whether you choose air or sea freight. Send us the origin and the volume, and your quote will include a schedule.
